The de Seversky Center at the New York Institute of Technology

During a time of great fortune and soaring industry the families of New York's elite constructed gleaming estates along the North Coast of Long Island. One such monument to the period is The New York Institute of Technology's de Seversky Conference Center -- a Georgian-style Mansion on the island's famed "Gold Coast".
Completed in 1918 by designer and architecht Thomas Hastings for the businessman philanthopist Alfred du Pont the mansion was originally given the name 'White Eagle'. Du Pont sold the mansion years later to Frederick E. Guest, first cousin of Winston Churchill, who named it 'Templeton'. The mansion remained in the Guest family until 1972 when it was purchased by the New York Institute of Technology and named after Russian aviator Alexander P. de Seversky who was principally responsible for the acquistion.
Now the de Seversky Center is a premiere site for Long Island business conferences as well as premium wedding events and is part of NYIT's Old Westbury campus.
